April 28, 1943 – January 17, 2023
India Pipkins was born on April 28, 1942. She was the eighth of eleven children, born to Lillie and Allen Tate in Essex, Missouri. Sister India Pipkins departed her earthly life on Tuesday, January 17, 2023.
India Tate was united in Holy Matrimony with Percy Pipkins Sr. (deceased) on October 11, 1959. To this union, three children were born.
Sister India Pipkins accepted Christ at an early age; she joined Christ Miracle Healing Center Church in 1968 under the leadership of Pastor Francis Thomas, where she was head of the Nursing Department. She was also a member of the Ladies' Choir.
India loved children; she was a very compassionate woman with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. India was a dedicated and loyal worker for 40 years at Evanston Hospital. She was a Supervisor in the Dietary division.
India was preceded in death by four sisters, Alice Carter, Pearlie White, Castella Patterson, and Mildred Carlock; three brothers, Cleveland Tate, Issaac Tate and Melvin Tate.
India Pipkins leaves to cherish her memories: one daughter, Tiffany Pipkins; two sons, Percy Jr. (Sabrina) Pipkins and Ronald Pipkins (Terrica); eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Linda Pipkins of Chicago, IL; two brothers, Allen (Helen) Tate of Harvey, IL and Jessie (Sharon) Tate of Hernando, MS; two sisters-in-law, Katherine Henry and Bernice Pipkins; one brother-in-law, John A Pipkins; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends; a special friend, Eva Richards.
