Rachell Marie Greene, 76, passed away peacefully of natural causes on August 22, 2025, in Richton Park, Illinois.  A lifelong pillar of love, Rachell was born on May 23, 1949, in Chicago, Illinois, to Eward and Gussie Lee Vasser Tripp.  She attended and graduated from Wendell Phillips High School in Chicago, IL.

Rachell's life was wrought with many challenges and valleys, but she endured with positivity until her last moment in time.  She loved listening and singing to old school gospel and R&B.  While visiting, she always asked for a "chocolate morsel".  She was determined to keep her independence, refusing any type of help.

She married the love of her life, Fernando Greene, and went on to have three children, Yakie, Tamarra, and Madaya.

Rachell was predeceased by her husband, Fernando Greene, father, and mother, Edward and Gussie Lee Vasser Tripp.

Rachell is survived by her sister, Val Jean Tripp Cade, aunt, Mary Gadsen, and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
