Robert Broadway, a figure of enduring presence and boundless affection, departed this world on March 3, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion. Born on November 17, 1964, Robert dedicated a significant chapter of his life to his career at Joliet Township High School, from where he ultimately retired after many years of dedicated service. His contributions to education and the lives of his students were emblematic of his selflessness and commitment to the betterment of others.

Robert was not just a devoted professional; he was a cherished father and grandfather, epitomizing what it means to be active and engaged in family life. His spirit was that of a fun-loving soul, always ready to lend a hand or share a laugh with those fortunate enough to cross his path. He was known for his unwavering support, offering assistance whenever called upon, a testament to his caring nature. Robert loved to engage in activities such as bowling, babysitting, and playing bingo, which reflected his vibrant personality and zest for life.

The bond he shared with his family—his daughter, Coretta Broadway; brothers, Stevie (Monica) Broadway, Anthony "Tony" (Theresa) Broadway; and sisters, Marchall (Brian) Cooper and Irene Green—was profound and deeply meaningful. They will carry forward his legacy of love and joy, remembering the countless moments spent together and the lessons imparted through his actions.

A Celebration of Life in honor of Robert Broadway will take place on March 14, 2026. Visitation from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, service at 12 noon at Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home, located at 1500 Black Rd, Joliet, IL. This gathering will not only serve as a time of remembrance but also as a fitting tribute to a man whose life was marked by selflessness, laughter, and an unwavering love for his family.
